Purchasing tickets with mobility budget
Proceed to purchase a ticket as you normally would on the HSL app. Select HSL Business Travel as the payment method. When buying the ticket, write the reason for or some other description of the journey in the field “Description” in accordance with the instructions your employer has provided. Once you have purchased the ticket, the price of the ticket will be deducted from the amount issued to you.
The remaining amount is always shown along with the payment method on the HSL app. You can also view your information related to HSL Business Travel in the “My information” section on hsl.fi.
Follow company policy when buying tickets
If you are uncertain as to which journeys you can pay with HSL Business Travel, contact your employer to find out your company’s policy concerning work-related travelling.
The amount of budget you have in your use must cover the entire price of the ticket
You can use the amount your employer has provided you with to buy single, day and season tickets. The amount must cover the entire price of the ticket. For instance, if you are provided with an amount of EUR 120 per year, you can use it to purchase one season ticket covering 1–3 zones and then use the rest to purchase single or day tickets.
It is unfortunately not possible to combine other payment methods, i.e. use your own money in addition to HSL Business Travel, with the amount your employer has provided you with in the first version of the product.
In addition, it is not possible to purchase tickets in the form of an auto-renewable subscription.
The amount of budget will be reset at the turn of the year
HSL Business Travel is an annual benefit, meaning that any unused amount will be reset at the turn of the year. Your employer will provide you with a new amount for the following year. You will receive an email notification once a new amount has been provided for you.
