Contactless payment piloted on the Suomenlinna ferry

We are testing contactless payment on the Suomenlinna ferry. You can use contactless payment to buy adult single tickets: First, select the zones you need, then show your debit or credit card to the card reader.

For the Suomenlinna ferry, you will need an AB ticket, which costs EUR 3.40. Your card serves as your ticket, so show it to the ticket inspector when requested. During the pilot, the ticket allows you to change to trams, the Metro, commuter trains and orange trunk route buses. You cannot change to blue buses.

Contactless payment is a fast and safe way to purchase tickets. Simply select the zones and show your card to the reader. The ticket will be stored on your card and you can board.

HSL fare zones

The HSL area is divided into four zones, identified by letters A, B, C and D. Select all the zones you travel through. In zones A, B and C, you always have to buy a ticket for at least two zones (an AB or BC ticket), as there are no one-zone tickets for zones A, B and C.

Other changes related to the ticketing overhaul

We are overhauling the purchase and use of tickets and upgrading our back-end systems. Digital transactions and purchases will be made easier, and more extensive self-service options will be available. Additionally, we will be able to develop new services more agilely in the future, as the digital sales system will be flexible to meet future needs.
