Route diversions and delays to traffic in downtown Helsinki on 6 February

The traditional truck parade of graduating high school students will affect public transport in the center of Helsinki on Thursday, 6 February from about 12.30pm to 2pm. Tram routes 1, 2, 3 and 6 will be diverted, and there will be changes to bus route 22. Additionally, there may be delays to trunk bus routes 20 and 30.

The traditional truck parade of graduating high school students will take place in the center of Helsinki on Thursday 6 February from 12.30pm to 2pm. The parade will start from Merisatamanranta at 12.30pm and proceed via Ehrenströmintie and Laivasillankatu. The event will create traffic jams in the city center.

 

Tram diversions

Tram routes 1, 2, 3 and 6 will be diverted between 12.30pm and 2pm.

  • Tram 1 will run via Aleksanterinkatu to the Olympia Terminal, from where it will continue to its terminus on Pursimiehenkatu. The tram will not serve the section of route from Ylioppilastalo via Bulevardi to Eira Hospital in either direction.
  • Tram 2 will run to the Market Square and tram 3 will run from Mannerheimintie via Aleksanterinkatu to the Katajanokka Terminal. The section of route from the Market Square via Olympia Terminal and Eira Hospital to Ylioppilastalo will not be served in either direction.
  • Tram 6 will run via Aleksanterinkatu to the Olympia Terminal, from where it will continue to Pursimiehenkatu. The tram will not serve the section of route from Eiranranta via Bulevardi to Ylioppilastalo in either direction.

 

Changes to bus services

On bus route 22, the services from Katajaharju at 12.50pm and 1.20pm will turn around in Ruoholahdenranta in front of Hotel Radisson Blu Seaside. The bus will not serve the section of route between Hietalahti and Punavuori. Additionally, there may be delays to trunk bus routes 20 and 30 when the parade crosses Lönnrotinkatu and Bulevardi.
