Bus 23 will run every day of the week approximately every 15 minutes. Additionally, night bus 23N will start running on Fridays and Saturdays.
Bus 23 to be rerouted via Karhupuisto
Bus 23 will be rerouted via Läntinen Brahenkatu, Helsinginkatu, Kaarlenkatu, and Porthaninkatu. The bus currently runs via Eläintarhantie, Wallininkatu and Sturenkatu.
The new route will follow Läntinen Brahenkatu, Helsinginkatu, Kaarlenkatu, Viides linja, Porthaninkatu and Toinen linja to Siltasaarenkatu (Hakaniementori, bay 15), from where the bus continues to the Railway Square. In the direction of Kallio, the bus will run via Hakaniemen torikatu (bay 24).
The route change will cause minor changes to the timetables, but the departure times from the termini will remain mostly unchanged. See the Journey Planner for detailed timetables and routes.

Night bus 23N will run between the Railway Square and Ilmala from 3 March
Night bus 23N will run on Friday and Saturday nights during the tram service disruption, replacing the night tram 9N. The bus will run approximately every 20 minutes from around 2am to 5am, when daytime bus 23 does not operate.
The bus will follow the same route as bus 23 from the Railway Square to Radiokatu. However, from Radiokatu, the night bus will continue to Ilmalankuja, terminating at the “Ilmalantori” (H0623) tram stop. The night bus will not run to Pirkkola.
More route changes during the spring and summer
The routes of buses 23 and 23N towards the city center will change during the spring and summer due to traffic arrangements associated with the Kallio summer streets and the construction of the Kruunusillat tramway. We will provide more details about the changes in the spring.
There will be changes to tram routes in Hakaniemi starting 3 March due to construction work on the Kruunusillat tramway on Siltasaarenkatu. Trams will not run across the Pitkäsilta Bridge to the city center until November. Tram routes 6, 7 and 9 will be split into two separate routes.
