Tram routes and buses to/from Elielinaukio to be diverted on the night of 31 December

On New Year’s Eve, 31 December, tram routes in downtown Helsinki and buses to/from Elielinaukio will be diverted between 9.45pm and 2am due to New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Kansalaistori Square. Buses normally running to Elielinaukio will run to Kamppi, and tram routes 1T, 4, and 10 will run via Runeberingkatu and Kamppi.

Bus diversions on 31 December between 9.45pm and 2am

Buses will not run to/from the Elielinaukio bus terminal on 31 December between 9.45pm and 2am due to New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Kansalaistori Square. Mannerheimintie will be closed to traffic between Eteläinen Hesperiankatu and Arkadiankatu.

Buses normally running to Elielinaukio will run to the Kamppi terminal via Topeliuksenkatu and Runeberginkatu. However, trunk bus 40 will terminate at the “Kamppi (M)” stop (H1222, bay 75,) and depart from the “Kamppi (M)” stop (H1237, bay 76) on Fredrikinkatu.

The buses will use the following bays in the Kamppi terminal:

  • Buses 200, 231N and 235N will use bay 44.
  • Bus 300 will use bay 42.
  • Bus 345(N) will use bay 41.
  • Bus 415N will use bay 49.
  • Bus 431(N) will use bay 46.
  • Bus 436N will use bay 48.

The following stops will not be served: “Hesperian puisto” (H1908, H1909 and H9011), “Töölön kisahalli” (H1914 and H1915), “Kansaneläkelaitos” (H1916 and H1917) and “Töölön tulli” (H1918, H1919 and H1921).

Buses U280(A) 455, 456N, 465(A), and 849, which leave from Kamppi, will also run via Runeberginkatu and Topeliuksenkatu in both directions.

Tram diversions from 9.45pm

On New Year’s Eve, tram routes 1T, 4 and 10 will run via Runeberingkatu and Kamppi from about 9.45pm due to New Year's Eve celebrations at the Kansalaistori Square. There will be no tram services on Mannerheimintie between the Opera and Lasipalatsi.

The following stops will not be served: “Hesperian puisto” (H0105 and H0106), “Kansallismuseo” (H0103 and H0104), “Lasipalatsi” (H0101 and H0102) and “Luonnontieteellinen museo” (H0201 and H0202).
