Metro services to return to normal when Mellunmäki Metro Station reopens on Monday 9 September

All Metro stations will be back in operation once Mellunmäki station reopens on Monday 9 September. Bus bays 11 and 12 will also be moved back to their original locations next to the Metro bridge in Mellunmäki and bus route 99M will be withdrawn. We thank all our passengers for their patience during the service changes. Welcome back!

The Mellunmäki Metro Station has been closed for three months due to the repair of the Metro bridge leading to the station. The Metro bridge crossing Länsimäentie will be reopened on Monday 9 September and the Metro will again run to Mellunmäki. At the same time, the Metro replacement bus 99M will be withdrawn.

Other bus services will return to normal in Mellunmäki and bus bays 11 and 12 will be moved back to their original locations. Trunk bus 570 to Helsinki Airport and neighborhood bus 818 to Vuosaari depart from bay 11, and bus 572 to Martinlaakso and bus 587 to Vierumäki depart from bay 12.

Bus bays 11 and 12 were temporarily relocated to the other side of the Metro bridge in June.

The outdoor Park & Ride area on the Vesala side of the station will remain closed for construction use until November-December. Until then, you can use other nearby Park & Ride facilities, for example, the Park & Ride in the K-supermarket building in Mellunmäki.

Alternatively, you can use the Park & Ride facilities at Vuosaari and Puotila Metro Stations. You can check the availability of parking spaces at the Vuosaari Park & Ride in the Journey Planner. You can also see the information about Park & Ride facilities along your route directly in the route suggestions if you use the Journey Planner at hsl.fi: go to Settings and select Car under My modes of transport.

You can find all Park & Ride areas available on the Park & Ride information page.

We thank all our passengers for their patience

The repair and maintenance work that started in the summer will continue as planned at many stations even after services have resumed. For example, the renovation of Kontula station will continue until 2025. However, the work will no longer affect Metro services.

Thank you for being flexible and using the Metro replacement trams and buses throughout the long summer.

Welcome back!

Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd, which is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Metro, is responsible for the works. You can read more about the work on their website.
