Lifts and escalators on university side at Aalto University Metro Station to be closed for maintenance from Monday 15 July – Tietotie entrance to open on Monday 8 July

The entrance on the university side at the Aalto University Metro Station will be closed for six weeks between Monday 15 July and Sunday 25 August due to maintenance work. The other entrance on Tietotie, which has been closed since 3 June, will open on Monday 8 July. As of 15 July, the only entrance to the Metro will be the one on Tietotie.

The eastern entrance at the Aalto University Metro Station (the entrance on the same side as the university, light rail stops and the shopping center) will be closed from Monday 15 July to Sunday 25 August. The entrance will be closed due to maintenance work on the fire alarm system and lighting. Similar work was performed at the Tietotie entrance, which was closed in early June. The work carried out at the entrance on the university side will close the entrance for several weeks. The work cannot be performed in stages, and scaffolding will block entrance to the escalators and lifts.

Regular maintenance and upkeep are crucial to ensure that the station remains in working order. The Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd is responsible for the work. The maintenance work will not affect Metro services.

During the work, you can access the Metro via the Tietotie entrance. The Tietotie entrance will be back in use on Monday 8 July.
Read our separate bulletin on the maintenance work on the Tietotie entrance.
