Tram 4 to run to Katajanokka terminal 7-13 August

Tram 4 will run to the Katajanokka Terminal 7–13 August. The tram will run to the terminal under route number 4T.

Tram 4 will run to Katajanokka Terminal 19–25 June, 10–16 July and 7–13 August. The tram will run to the terminal under route number 4T. The diversion is due to street lighting repair work on Merikasarminkatu.

At the same time, the route of tram 5 will be extended to Kolmikulma and the tram will operate a reduced service. However, transport links to Katajanokka Terminal will remain good as both tram 4T and 5 will serve the terminal.

Changes to tram route 4

Tram 4 will run to Katajanokka Terminal under route number 4T. The "Vyökatu" (H0413 and H0414), "Ulkoministeriö" (H0415 and H0416) and "Merisotilaantori" (H0417 and H0421) stops will not be served. 

The closest stop served is the "Mastokatu" (H0418) stop on Kruunuvuorenkatu.

In addition, the normal departure stop of tram 4 ("Merisotilaantori" H0421) will also be closed between 26 June and 23 July. Tram 4 will depart from the "Merisotilaantori" stop (H0417) on the opposite side of the street one minute earlier than usual.

Changes to tram route 5

The terminus of tram 5, Katajanokka Terminal – Central Railway Staiton, will move to Kolmikulma and the tram will operate a reduced service. The changes are made to synchronize the timetables with tram 4T.

Information about the arrangement

Street lighting repair work will be carried out on Merikasarminkatu over the summer. The work will be performed in three phases so that tram services to Katajanokka are not disrupted for a long period of time. No replacement buses will be provided as Merikasarminkatu will also be closed to buses.

The work will be carried out 19–25 June, 10–16 July and 7–13 August. At other times, trams 4 and 5 will run as usual.
