Tram services to/from Jätkäsaari will be replaced by buses from Monday 6 March to Friday 10 March, when the pedestrian and cycle bridge connecting the north and south parts of Hyväntoivonpuisto is installed. During this time, there will be no tram services in Jätkäsaari.
Tram 8 will terminate at the Opera and trams 7 and 9 will run from the Central Railway Station via Bulevardi to Hietalahti. Replacement bus 8X will run between the Opera, Ruoholahti Metro Station and Jätkäsaari, bus 9X between Hietalahti and Jätkäsaari. Both buses will serve the West Terminal. Use the Journey Planner to find alternative transport links for your journey. Remember to use a search date between 6 March and 10 March.
You can board the replacement buses using the middle doors. If you have a valid ticket, you do not need to show your ticket to the driver or a card reader.
Diversion route of tram 8 and replacement bus 8X, Jätkäsaari – Opera
Tram 8 will terminate at the Opera. The terminus will be “Ooppera” (H0242) and the departure stop in the direction of Arabia will be “Ooppera” (H0241). Replacement bus 8X will run from the Opera to Ruoholahti Metro Station, Jätkäsaari and the West Terminal. The bus will run every 9 minutes.
Replacement 8X will depart from the “Kaupunginpuutarha” stop (H2363). You can also change from the tram to the bus at the Opera, the bus stop is on Runeberginkatu. The bus will serve some tram stops and some bus stops along its route. For a list of stops served by the replacement bus, see the bottom of this page.

Diversion route of trams 7 and 9 and replacement bus 9X, Jätkäsaari – Hietalahti
Trams 7 and 9 will be diverted to run from the Central Railway Station via Bulevardi to Hietalahti, from where passengers can continue by replacement bus 9X to Jätkäsaari and the West Terminal. The bus will run every 9 minutes.
The following stops will not be served: “Simonkatu” (H0231 and H0232), “Kampintori” (H0824 and H0825), “Ruoholahden villat” (H0822 and H0823) and “Länsilinkki” (H0820 and H0821). Instead, the trams will serve the “Erottaja” (H0801 and H0802), “Fredrikinkatu” (H0803 and H0804), “Aleksanterin teatteri” (H0805) and “Hietalahdentori” (H0807 and H0808) stops on Bulevardi as well as the “Hietalahdenkatu” (H0810), “Kalevankatu” (H0812), “Hietalahti” (H0811, terminus) and “Köydenpunojankatu” (H0809) stops.
