Tram routes 4 and 10 will be diverted to run via Runeberginkatu and Arkadiankatu in Töölö from 6 March. The journey time between Lasipalatsi and the Opera will increase by about five minutes. In addition, the trams will run every ten minutes instead of every eight minutes.
The trams will serve the following stops along the new route: "Töölöntori" (H0209 and H0210), "Apollonkadu" (H0207 and H0208), "Sammonkatu" (H0205 and H0206), "Hanken" (H0203 and H0204) and "Luonnontieteellinen museo" (H0201 and H0202).
The "Kansallismuseo" (National Museum, H0103 and H0104) and "Hesperian puisto" (H0105 and H0106) stops on Mannerheimintie will not be served.
The changes are due to the renovation of Mannerheimintie which commences on 6 March. The route change is made to alleviate congestion on Mannerheimintie. Mannerheimintie will be made one-way in both directions for the duration of the works. Read more about the diversion routes caused by the renovation of Mannerheimintie in a separate release.
