Street works (“Kasin katutyöt”)
The extensive street works project “Kasin katutyöt” covers areas in Töölö and Kallio and spans over several years. The project covers sections of Caloniuksenkatu and Runeberginkatu in Töölö and part of Helsinginkatu and its cross streets in Kallio. Link to the project’s website (in Finnish) (outside hsl.fi)
Therefore, tram services will be affected by the project this summer as well. However, the construction and renovation work carried out during the project is necessary to ensure that the streets, tracks and underground piping system remain functional. The renovation of the streets will improve the traffic environment. In addition, the new tram routes will improve services in the future.
