Changes to Metro services in East Helsinki 3 June–8 September
The Mellunmäki Metro Station will be closed for three months from the beginning of June to the beginning of September. Later in the summer, Kontula and Myllypuro stations will also be closed. In addition, the Metro will run less frequently than normal due to the works. We will add bus services in East Helsinki in the summer.
Things to take note of
Mellunmäki Metro Station closed from 3 June to 8 September
The Mellunmäki Metro Station will be closed from 3 June because of repair work on the metro bridge crossing Länsimäentie. The Metro will resume serving Mellunmäki on 9 September.
Kontula Metro Station closed from 24 June to 4 August
The Kontula station will be closed for renovation. The station will reopen on 5 August. However, the eastern ticket hall and the R-kiosk and ticket machine in the hall will remain open.
Myllypuro Metro Station closed from 8 July to 4 August
The Myllypuro station will be closed due to metro bridge renovations. The station will reopen on 5 August.
The Metro will run every 5 or 10 minutes between 3 June and 1 September
The Metro will run between Itäkeskus and the University of Helsinki every five minutes and between Itäkeskus and Myllypuro or Kontula every 10 minutes from 3 June. Normal service frequency will resume on 2 September.
Metro replacement bus 99M and other bus routes provide service
Metro replacement bus 99M will serve Mellunmäki between 3 June and 8 September. The bus will run from Itäkeskus or Kontula, depending on at which station the Metro terminates. Trunk bus route 560 also provides alternative service. Bus routes 92, 94 and 95 will run more frequently than usual.
