Instructions for Vantaa city bikes
You need an app to register for the service and to use the city bikes in Vantaa. Download the "Vantaan kaupunkipyörät" app from your app store and follow the instructions on the app. NB! The app is only available in Finnish.
- Go to a bike station. Use the Vantaan kaupunkipyörät app to see the locations of bike stations and number of bikes available in advance.
- If you have linked your HSL card to your user account, unlock a bike by showing your HSL card to the card reader on the lock above the rear wheel. Alternatively, you can pick up a bike using the Vantaan kaupunkipyörät app. Open the app and select the bike you wan to unlock.
- Adjust the seat and start riding.
- You can make as many 60-minute bike rides as you like.
- Always use cycle lanes, or if there are none available, cycle on the road. Walk the bike on sidewalks.
- If you ride a bike for more than 60 minutes at a time, you will be charged an extra fee of one euro per each additional 60 minutes.
- Return the bike to a bike station within at most five hours.
- Return the bike to any city bike station in Vantaa.
- Lock the bike to the dock with the cable. If the dock is full, leave the bike next to another city bike. Wrap the cable around the dock or around another bike and slide the locking bolt into the lock between the wheel spokes of the bike you are returning. A beep signals that the bike is securely docked.
- If you are using the Vantaan kaupunkipyörät app, select “Lopeta matka” on the app. You get a confirmation that your ride has ended through the app.
